Want to wed in Paradise?  I know the perfect place to do it. 

In the midst of a most dreary winter, I had the fantastic opportunity to spend several days in Playa del Carmen on a familiarization trip hosted by CondoHotels Playa del Carmen.

As Inspired Occasions expands its business to serve more and more destination brides, I jumped at the chance to stay in and tour these gorgeous properties, network with wedding planners in Riviera Maya and familiarize myself with all that this region has to offer those brides seeking to host their nuptials in a magical beach location.

Our hosts, CondoHotels, could not have been more gracious.  We were treated to luxury accommodations, delicious meals and wonderful hospitality.  The four properties which comprise the CondoHotels, were conceived of by Playa’s most renowned developers, Jack Perlman.  Each property has its own unique theme with Perlman’s signature style which incorporates soft curves and palapa roofs that meld into the Caribbean environment.  The concept of these unique hotels is to combine the comforts and convenience of a vacation home with the luxury and pampering of a hotel.  There are 1, 2 and 3 bedrooms units available which makes this property equally ideal for both larger families and intimate couples. 

I had the pleasure of spending my days and nights at the crown jewel of CondoHotels, the El Taj Oceanfront.  Right on the turquoise waters and white sand beach, El Taj stands out with its Balinese inspired design, lushly landscaped courtyard and dual level swimming pool.  It features the Indigo Beach Club and Restaurant where you can dine on delicious local specialties with your toes in the sand or get swept away on the comfy beach beds while listening to the hypnotic waves.

The two bedroom unit I called home for my stay was well appointed with a modern yet comfortable design featuring a fully furnished kitchen with stainless steel appliances, a cozy living room with a couch that can seat an army, two bedrooms each with their own showroom worthy bathroom, comfortable beds and pillows, flat screen televisions in each room and a terrace complete with a grill, outdoor sink, table and chairs and full size Jacuzzi overlooking the ocean.  It was truly a home away from home.

I also had the opportunity to tour the other CondoHotel properties including Porto Playa, Maya Villa and El Taj Beachside.  Each property was equally as impressive as El Taj Oceanfront.  Guests of each of these properties are treated to 24 hour concierge service, food from two amazing restaurants, a state of the art gym and luxurious spa.

Looking through my wedding planner glasses, I was thrilled to discover this gem called CondoHotels.  Not only are they a perfect place to accommodate destination wedding guests who are often comprised of families of all sizes, they also offer spectacular locations for wedding ceremonies and receptions.  Thatched rooftop terraces with amazing views can accommodate private wedding ceremonies and receptions of up to 40 guests.  Have a larger group?  The Indigo Beach Club at El Taj is a magical location where guests can celebrate with their toes in the sand and the sound of the waves in the background.
